The Appeals Process
Say Yes Guilford understands that sometimes students experience extenuating circumstances that may have an impact on their education. Please review this list of eligibility criteria and determine if you need to file an appeal.
In order to be considered eligible for support from Say Yes Guilford, applicants must meet these requirements:
- Meet the income and continuous enrollment requirements (link coming soon)
- Graduate from a Guilford County Schools High School
- Enroll as a full-time student in a Say Yes eligible college within one academic year after graduation
- Complete the FAFSA and be eligible to receive federal funding
If extenuating circumstances prevented you or your student from meeting all of the above criteria, you can submit an appeal.
The 2019-2020 appeals application is open. Click here to complete the appeals application.
The Say Yes Guilford Appeals Committee will review appeals for Fall 2019 in either October 2019 and November 2019 to make an independent ruling. Once a decision has been made about your appeal, Say Yes Guilford will contact you with the outcome.
If you have any questions, please email us at email@example.com
Say Yes Guilford is here to connect students and families with resources so they can make good decisions about how to finance post-secondary education. Guilford Parent Academy will host a series of workshops that will answer parent questions and help with completing financial aid forms and scholarship applications.
FAFSA, FAFSA, FAFSA!
In order to be eligible for Say Yes Scholarships, students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Students who need assistance completing the FAFSA can always contact Say Yes Guilford at 336-814-2233 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org
It takes a community to provide supports needed to help students graduate from high school and be successful in their post-secondary educations. Say Yes Guilford will build supports to help students every step of the way, from kindergarten readiness through earning a college degree or certificate.
What are Supports?
The range of supports and services offered by Say Yes Guilford and its partners in our community are anticipated to include tutoring and after-school programming; medical and mental health counseling; guidance on college admissions and financial aid, and free legal assistance. Assessing Community Need
Currently, we’re assessing the types of support that students need at every stage. Over the next five years, Say Yes to Education will invest $15 million to fund critical supports that will help students — from preschool through college — succeed. In other Say Yes to Education communities, supports include tutoring, after-school programs, summer programs, medical care, counseling and legal assistance. In addition, Say Yes to Education invests in building capacity in our community, as well as technology.
