GREENSBORO, NC (January 30, 2017) – The Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro Future Fund endowment has granted $20,000 to Say Yes Guilford. The gift is now included as part of the Say Yes Guilford scholarship endowment.
According to Future Fund member Cort Bennett, the contribution is a signal that young leaders in the Guilford County community are excited about the hope and promise of Say Yes. “Members of the Future Fund share a commitment to building a better community for all,” says Bennett. “By supporting Say Yes Guilford, and its commitment to helping communities build pathways to post-secondary education, we have aligned ourselves with an organization that shares our commitment to build a better tomorrow.”
The contribution to Say Yes represented nearly half of the Future Fund’s total of $48,000 awarded during its grant cycle. The funds raised and committed for Say Yes Guilford to date total nearly $42 million. The funds will go to support scholarships and program implementation that provide services and support to students and families with a goal of increasing postsecondary education completion. Ongoing fundraising efforts are aimed at securing an endowment of $70 million or more to sustain the Say Yes Guilford program in the future.
