Scholarship Appeals

Say Yes Guilford understands that sometimes students experience extenuating circumstances that may have an impact on their education. Once a decision has been made about your appeal, Say Yes Guilford will contact you in a timely manner to communicate the outcome with you.

In order to be eligible for support from Say Yes Guilford, applicants must meet these requirements:

  1. Have been continuously enrolled in Guilford County Schools
    Grade entered and continuously enrolled % Last Dollar Tuition Scholarship
    6-12 100%
    7, 8, 9-12 75%
    10-12 50%
    11-12 25%
    12 0%
  2. Graduate from a Guilford County Public High School
  3. Enroll as a full time student in a Say Yes eligible college within one academic year after graduation
  4. Complete the FAFSA and be eligible to receive federal funding

If you do not meet the requirements stated above due to (1) medical circumstance, (2) personal/family hardship, (3) military deployment or (4) other, and wish to request special consideration please complete the form below.

Appeals submitted for review must include all necessary documentation. Extenuating circumstances and suggested documentation may include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Statement from physician or therapist on letterhead that could include dates of service, recommendations, background history, diagnostic procedures and referral information
  • Copy of court/legal documents
  • Military orders showing dates of deployment, training or service
  • Copy of obituary, funeral program, or certified death certificate along with a notarized statement

Additional documentation from the student’s school may be required at Say Yes’ discretion.
